TORONTO, ON. The Hilborn Group has acquired Foundation Magazine from Lloydmedia Inc, effective January 1st, 2025.
As Canada’s national magazine for the philanthropic sector, Foundation Magazine launched in 2019 with the mandate to connect philanthropy, the business sector and societal benefactors in a media channel that included print and digital editions, email news, a national website with breaking news, leadership insights and reports that delve deeply into the sector’s evolution and impact.
The Hilborn Group publishes the weekly newsletter Charity eNews and organizes the annual Nonprofit Employer of Choice Awards program. Through its Civil Sector Press imprint, it has published more than seventy books for global nonprofit sector managers
“We’re proud to offer the nonprofit sector a number of respected and well-read media platforms, including books, newsletters, awards and now a fully-fledged, in-depth magazine,” said Jim Hilborn, the firm’s CEO.
Published six times a year since its launch at AFP Congress in 2019, Foundation Magazine has a print and digital readership of approximately 8,000, and significant traffic and readership on the magazine’s website and news pages.
Foundation Magazine provides its top-level executive readers with in-depth coverage of the business and spirit of philanthropy in Canada through its thoughtful in-depth articles by sector specialists and leaders from the nation’s top organizations.
It is an ideal complement to the practical how-to information and concepts that have been the hallmark of Charity eNews for almost four decades.
Foundation Magazine and Charity eNews will remain separate media channels providing unique information to their audiences. With a combined readership of over 20,000, the two publications now offer service suppliers an unmatched entree into the Canadian nonprofit sector.
